There were reports that Rajinikanth Lingaa would clash with Vijay Kaththi as both the movies were heading for Diwali release.
But now, it appears like there would not be any competition between the two movies as the superstar movie is heading towards a solo release on Rajini birthday.
Lingaa was kick-started in May and KS Ravikumar had earlier set the Diwali deadline for its release. But we hear that the film did not progress as he planned before. So, the makers of the movie have now decided to release the flick on December 12 for Rajinkanth birthday.
By doing it, Lingaa has now avoided the Diwali clash and it is most likely to have a solo release on December 12. Currently, the film unit is busy filming key portions in Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad. It is the second schedule of the movie after completing its first schedule in Karnataka.
Lingaa, which is named after Rajinikanth grandson, has Sonakshi Sinha and Anushka Shetty in the female lead role. It is directed by KS Ravikumar and produced by Rockline Venkatesh. Oscar Award winner AR Rahman has composed the music and Rathavelu has handled the camera.
